I keep a great first-aid kit in my Bug Out Bag and hunting pack when I'm out in the woods. I was thinking of making a gun/bow first aid kit to keep with me incase something needs fixed out in the open. Any suggestions what I should keep with me for any fix I'd have to make?

.223 or .22 WMR for coyotes? shots will rarely be over 150 yards. also, what rifles chambered in these calibers would you recommend? looking for something around $200-$250

Any tips for bear proofing a Treestand site? Bears are protected in FL and my hunting club is loaded with them, when the bears fins our deer corn they will not leave and the deer will not join them. due to the thickness of the club we have to bait, how do I get the bears to leave without scaring the deer?

I am considering getting a lever action rifle chambered for pistol ammunition. I was wondering if anyone can suggest any makes or models (I have been looking at the Henry Big Boy) and also what caliber, such as .357,.44, or .45LC. Which would be a good deer round and about how far of a shot can I expect before it drops drastically? Thanks all.

I took a 6 mile hike in a large area of public land not too far from where I live here in NE Iowa this morning, and found 8 to 10 different deer carcasses. All but one of them were in close proximity to a stream, which would indicate EHD, but they were too recent for that, all looked to have died 3 weeks to 2 months ago, way after the EHD season, and well after our late hunting seasons too. All were either young does or fawns, judging by the skulls and hooves. The only thing I can think of that might have done them in is winter-kill, but our winter really wasn't that severe here, and most were a mile or less from some large standing-corn food plots. Anybody have any ideas what could've killed them?
