I’m looking for a pair of hunting boots that will actually keep my feet warm when deer hunting. The temperatures I hunt in range from about 0-30 degrees and I do a lot of still hunting with some walking. I would like to keep the price under $150. What gram of Thinsulate should I get? Any “must have” hunting boots out there?

Hey Guys, so as some of you know i will be deer hunting in Big Cove Tannery, PA on Monday. I will be using a 7mm-08 Remington bullet and i am having trouble deciding between Remington Core-Lokt and Winchester Power-Point. Both shoot accurately in my Ruger. Core-lokt seems to get the highest reviews. Anyone else have an opinion?

Hi All. A repost of an old question that I still need help with: 09/11/11: Read a poem or essay, don't remember which, about 10 years ago, and am trying to find it. It compared hunting\conservation with the "humanity" of letting nature deal with deer over population. The story was aimed at those who felt hunting was bad and that it is best to let nature take it's course. The author vividly describes the brutality of nature - winter, starvation, predation, etc., as compared to legally harvesting deer with a single, comparatively, painless bullet. An absolutely amazing story. I would really like to find this again. Any help? 11/21/12: Thanks to those who tried to help, but I still can't find the article. I think DSMbirddog is on the right track with Kerasote, but couldn't find an essay that matched what I remember. I was thinking maybe Cerulli? Any ideas? I really appreciate the help. this article is what motivated me to be a hunter.

K guys need some help. I live in Iowa the weather here is in the 50s to 60s. I want to fill my daughters tag and get her into the sport shes 13 and this is her 2nd year and she's getting frustrated. I want her to get a buck for sure nothing huge just something to put meat on the table and to break the ice we haven't seen much at all. I hunt in a small patch of woods next to a big creek to my south, bean field to the east and a hwy to the west to the north is also beanfield. As of right now where or what should I be doing to increase her chances. Any ideas would be great. Thanks in advance.

Ok so the deer I've been seeing are all tall solid mass but about a inch inside the ears. I call it a basket rack! Is there anything I can do to legally to help these bucks to grow wider in hopes to make them legal for next season?

Recently multiple correct answers (posted by multiple users) have been voted down in the answers section without reasoning. To those who have been doing it, the only person that you are hurting is the one asking the question. -If it is a matter of opinion, then simply state why you disagree; there is no reason to vote the comment down. -If an answer is incorrect there is nothing wrong with voting it down, but not without explaining why it is wrong and giving the correct answer. -If the answer is correct give it a vote up or leave it alone, no matter who posted it.

Hey guys..on the 26th i will be deer hunting up in Big Cove Tannery, PA. I am set up in a blind that is on an incline going up a mountain. Down below where a big 8 pt is hanging out in a cluster of pines is where i will most likely be shooting...it is about 75 yards away max and it is going downhill. The incline is very slight, only a 10 - 15 degree grade. will it affect my 140 gr 7mm-08 Bullet? thanks! -Jack
