Q:
I recently broke the rod tip off my pole. If anyone out there has some good ideas how to fix it without buying a new pole it would be greatly appreciated. Also if you know how it will work after.

There are kits and piece that you can buy for the end of a broken rod. It really depends on how much you broke off the tip as to how good it will work, but usually one of the tip replacement kits can take care of it, you can try searching rod repair on cabelas or bass pro. I've never seen them at the local store, but i live in maine where specialty items aren't as easy to find everywhere.
Yoda has you going to the right place. Those repair kits work just fine. Shouldn't be too different from the rod new but like Yoda said, depends how much you broke off.
Everything depends upon how much of the tip has been lost, but here's what's worked for me with the very many tips that I've gotten caught in car doors etc. Trip the tip cleanly and then drill out the small remaining rod material from the top guide. Now, take a headless nail--finishing nails will work-- about the same diameter as the ferrule. Mix a bit of epoxy and coat both ends of the nail. Slip one end into the rod and another into the guide tip and let set. The results are pretty good.
I was going to suggest the same thing Yoda said, but I really like Gerry's do it yourself method. Most of us probably have everything you need right in the garage.
it depends on how much broke off, on a stiff rod i have used half a welding rod and JB weld
