Q:
Do you guys believe in hunting cougars with dogs because i don't see the sport in that it's like there's a big cat sitting in a tree waiting for you to shoot it like "Oh, i missed i'll just string another arrow and shoot again" and i can understand the excitement of the chase but just think that after you tree it just leave it alone. When i hunt cats i'll bait 'em. What do you guys think?

I personally wouldn't bait them, im all for fair chase but all i bowhunt is whitetails. Just my opinion

Treed by dogs, or slipping up to bait, or sunning on a rock pile. Is it really any different.
I think that it's really a cultural thing, and it changes from region to region. It's a form of hunting that has been used for various game all over the world. It's all a matter of opinion based on a persons personal views. But regardless of that it is a form of hunting that should be defended by all sportsmen, because if you decide to give up one form of hunting to appease the liberals, they will want to try and take away more at some other point.
Yoda, very nice, couldnt have said it better, but here in illinois it is illegal to bait whitetails and thats the only big game i hunt, i guess it would be different hunting cougars
