in the past yes. But with experience you get over it somewhat. Enjoy the hunts you do and be proud of what you accomplish. There is always a nicer buck, bull, tom, Doe, Ram etc in the woodline.
It's not toatally bout the size of the animal it's the hunt. everyone oohs and ahhhs over a nice buck but if you have an awesome hunt and a good story it's still a success.
Tough love here:
Simply stop being selfish and mature up.
im not being selfish i am very happy for him. and i completely undertsand that everyone has there own right and deserves to shoot an animal. i just get really jelous
Try bragging about your friend's elk, and after a litle while it will be "our" elk. You will soon feel good talking about it and will come to realize that it is only a matter of time before "your" elk arrives on the scene. Good luck and good hunting.
hello - only fix I can think of get afew lds of his elk burger and make and enjoy some elk chili!!
Easy, go out and kill a bigger bull.
It's natural to envy someone elses experience when they get their creel limit or get that 8 point. Heck, I get it when I see those guys around the campfire telling stories on the Bass Pro commercial! It'll pass, just don't ever show it.
If your a true friend you'll get over it. Just go shoot a bigger one yourself lol.
I agree with charlie elk, but don't take what he said as an insult. It's normal to be a little jealous. Just don't act upset about it. Be proud of your friend. That wierd feeling you're getting--suck it up like a man--it will pass. Last year, my friend got a gator that measured over 11 feet. I went home & bragged like crazy to anyone that would listen about my friend's 11 footer, but I was secretly a little jealous. Two weeks later I got a 12 footer.
Like others said just get out there and find and bag a bigger one. I'm guessing the more you hunt and the more success you achieve the less frequent these jealous feelings will happen to you in years to come.
