New Mexico is without a doubt produces the biggest bull elks in the United States.
Some great areas in New Mexico are:
* Unit 15 in the Gila National Forest continually produces 400-class bulls.
* Units 34 and 36 in the Lincoln National forest.
* Unit 55 produces monster bulls and excellent rutting action.
* Unit 52 in the Carson National Forest.
Montana or colorado.
Best chance of a royal plus bull : Nevada. BUT, its a lotto state be prepared to apply many times.
Best chance of scoring a tag in a good area : Arizona or Colorado.
My dad went to wyoming a few times and said he had great succsess and his biggest bull was a 6X6 i think mabey a 8X8 but i think a 6X6
I believe Kentucky is the best. But Im a little biased.... You do have to be drawn for the hunt so good luck!
The only thing is Gas Prices Here in Fl. gas is now
$4.48 Per Gal. soon to be $5.00
I was going to say kentucky with a high success rate but it is a draw hunt, but since colorado has no draw and it is pretty state and as soon as I can talk JM into guiding us there to meet his family,well-------
I would say Colorado for three reasons.
1. No drawings for tags
2. I have family there.
3. Amazing looking state.
