The 308 is fine for an all round rifle until you decide what you might want to try next and expand your gun cabinet.

The .308 is a great all around gun, however I am one who does feel it is a little light for moose.

The 308 is a great round, the bullet selection for it is great, and its right on the heels of the 30-06 until you get above 200 gr bullets. Shot placement is everything no matter what your hunting. Some might think its a little light for moose, but I'm sure some have fell to the 308 with a well placed shot.

Depends. I started out with a 25/06. I was just hunting deer though. I hunt elk with my bow. But if you are hunting moose and elk, a 308 is good.

.308 is an excellent round. Tons of ammo at different grain weights available!

I started with the 308 and i still break it out every now and again. I trie to shoot everything with the compound and flintlock. Not sure if i am going to bring it or the .300 Savage up to bear camp this year.
