I'm interested in preserving hackle feathers from the partridge that I will get this year, whats the easiest way to do it without plucking?

plucked feathers will keep forever.but you can cape out the hackles you want to save, scrape the flesh to remove fats and tissue, then rub well with UNIODIZED salt. tack feather side down to a vertical board an let drain.rub more salt every day for 5-6 days and the cape should last as long as it kept dry.
