I have been reading articles by Dr. James C. Kroll for over 25 years. This man has an amazing knowledge of whitetail deer from his many years in research. I would highly recommend any book he has published. The magazine North American Whitetail has in depth whitetail information in it and The Deer Doctor has a monthly column. You can't go wrong with Dr. Kroll.
"The Deer of North America" by Leonard Lee Rue the 3rd...coincidently I purchased mine 20+ years ago through Outdoor Life Book Club!
