Is it too early to try rattling a buck in? I live in Southeast MO, and have seen a few scrapes and quite a few large rubs in the area I hunt.

Rattling could be a good idea, because bucks usually start sparring in Mid-September. Just be sure to use short rattling sessions, because the bucks won't really start fighting until the rut kicks in.
