Q:
For all you whitetail bow hunters, which do you think is more of a challenge to hunt, a mature doe, or a mature buck? My personal opinion is the mature doe.

I think it depends on where you hunt. If does get very little pressure, they aren't as wary as the bucks. Where does are hunted more, that horny old buck might give you a better chance.

I'm with you all the way, Louie. Where I hunt, the old does walk around like they expect somebody to goose them any second. When a buck shows up during daylight hours, he's usually acting like he's on his way somewhere and not nearly as nervous and alert as an old snake-necked sally.

I know hunting mature bucks is hard untill rut time because there really hard to pattren. If your talking lead doe then she is just as alert as any buck but easier to pattren. Hunting is easy to figure out be at the right place at the right time its just knowing the right place and what time to be there is the hard part because we all know it dont work out like we plan.

Pineywoods, you know what im talkin about! Mature bucks during the rut are sometimes caught off guard thats the best time to send one through his pump station.

Both are hard to hunt. That buck learnd how to survive from a smart doe.But you will see a mature doe more during daylight and bust you and alert the buck more times than you will ever see him.
