Q:
Has anyone ever seen a Mink near a pond before? I know they like streams, but I'm not sure if they'll be found near ponds or not.

Yes I have seen one near a pond, but I think they would like moving water more. Not Rapids.

Hi...

If mink are in your area, they will also be in/around any nearby unpolluted body of water. That's where much of their food lives, whether it's a stream, pond, river or lake (and don't forget...many mink are also trapped on land, too).

If you're in mink country, and you have water, mink will be there at least once in a while. Whether the water is moving or not doesn't really make any difference, the important factor is how much food is available.

Like DSM said, they prefer shallow clear moving water, but they will be seen around ponds every once and a while.
