If acorns are abundant in your area, like they are in mine right now, you can make a sort of "acorn butter". Its really similar to peanut butter, but with acorns. You might need to experiment a little with it a little to suit your deer. Maybe add some honey to it, or some salt. Good Luck! Let us know how it goes!
I say don't attact at all. Be where the deer be and don't let them know it. Eliminate your scent and you'll kill deer.
I've seen straight vanilla extract work well as a curiousity scent.
Several boxes of Rock Salt/Ice Cream Salt can be an effective attractant. The deer will actually eat the soil the the Salt melts into. Good luck,
i use a new spray bottle(usually find em at dollar stores) and fill it with pure apple juice. I spray bushes and tree trunks on my way into my stand
this will sound crazy but I'v seen it work more than once. during rut or late post rut create a mock scrape under a licking branch, then pee in it and get to your stand. If a deer traveles near it the deer will come to check it out, guarenteed.
mixs jello and red soda with corn
I know a guy who once hung raw carrots on pine trees like Christmas ornaments, but it didn't work. He claims to have had some success lately with peanut butter smeared on an oak post near his stand, but it attracted mostly does.
