well i never use it, and always max out on my tags, moving around and geting the wind just right helps
I personally just stuff my hunting clothes in a bag of leaves with a touch of vanilla extract after every day out in the field and keep them there until I get out of my vehicle to enter my stand the next time I go to hunt. This combined with playing the wind has worked perfectly for me.
While there is no scent free existence; your strategy should be one of limiting your own scent introduction into the ecosystem that you plan to hunt. This can be obtained by using cover scents to your advantage and awareness of wind patterns and how air currents behave at dawn and dusk.Hunting clothes can be placed in a cardboard box with pine or cedar boughs when not in use.
