World-Record Snakehead Caught in Thailand - 0

While considered an invasive, hated and downright nasty species in the USA, snakeheads are held in high esteem as revered battlers in eastern countries.

And now a monster snakehead straight out of a cheap horror movie has taken the top all-tackle world record spot. Native angler Bkkguy John Ang Woon Heng, launched out an Evergreen crankbait in Nakohon Ratchasima, Thailand, on April 19th, and promptly got shellacked by this massive 26-pound behemoth.

Woon Heng needed only three minutes to boat the beast, which beat out the existing record by four pounds. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, the fish was released alive after an accurate weight was recorded.
