California: Handgun 'ban scheme' challenged in court - 7
by John Haughey
The Second Amendment Foundation, The Calguns Foundation and four California residents filed a lawsuit on April 30 challenging a California state law and “regulatory scheme that arbitrarily bans handguns based on a roster of ‘certified’ handguns approved by the State. This case parallels a similar case filed in Washington, DC, Hanson v. District of Columbia. Ahh, The Democratic People's Republic of California, the leading place on the North American continent to do away with anything traditional and attack with malice those who are of the traditional bent.
I hope this gets to court while the current crew is on and before we get any more libs. We need more level-headed rulings to put the statists back in their place.
When you stop and think about it, our Founding Fathers would probably try to remove states like California from the Union because they wouldn't want them to be associated with the United States, as most of the stuff coming from there is anything but American. I think that most of the California legislators and voting populace would be far more at ease in the USSR back in the 50's and 60's.
THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED ,and I applaud the 650,000 members of the CALGUN FOUNDATION, MR.IVAN PENNA, ATTY.ALAN GURA and others for thier courage and will to denouce CALIFORNIA'S idea of the true meaning of the 2nd admendment .
6phunter,
You and I can understand the words "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." But the people of California, along with their lawyers don't. We just need to be sure that we are vocal enough when the talk gets crazy that those legislators who think they can take the guns away never get anymore votes ever.
Bo, its THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF KALIFORNIA(nothing democratic except the gun thiefs that "hollywood" votes in.
BIG O AND BO' YES sir's on many points we do seem to follow the opinion that our constitution was signed and ratified on certain rights. In todays modern world where the media controls all the news of miscreants it's ez to see why so many people see the 2nd amendment issue the savior to thier problems.I have no doubt that if guns were confiscated and outlawed that gun related deaths would go down.that's not really the true issue though is it ?there would still be the crazies doin crazy stuff, and many of the average citzen would be at thier mercy. From my stand point i see the right to bear arms as going a step further ,as if this right is ever lost ,then soon many of our other rights would soon follow. Ask any anti how they would feel if women were only allowed to vote in local electios? or not allowed to hold any public office?never happen they mite say,the erosion of our rights by this or any govt.is slow forth coming and our second amendment is the only one that can protect our other rights. We have all the same stereo type impression of the CALIFORNIA LIBERALS, yet there are many there who share your'es and mine beliefs, and to them I applaud thier efforts.
6phunter, If they confiscated all the guns from the law abiding citizens, only the bad guys would have guns. Then every city would be like New York, Chicago, LA, Washington DC. Gun crime and gun related death in those cities is horrendous and handguns are pretty much banned there even after the Heller Decision. We all have to be very vocal every time anyone addresses the Second Amendment and has a more "common sense" approach. Common Sense dictates let law abiding citizens have guns and the bad guys won't know who has them and who doesn't. If they know nobody has guns, the world is their defenseless victim. I for one choose NOT to be a victim.
Big O, I am from the era that I can remember most of the Warsaw Pact countries called themselves the Democratic Peoples Republic of Germany, or Poland, or Hungary. There was nothing Democratic about them, they just wanted to sound like they were democratic. They were all totalitarian statist government who wanted to micro-manage everything in their populace's lives, you know kind of like the DNC in Washington DC, particularly in the White House.
