ObamaCare could be used to ban guns in home self-defense

ObamaCare could be used to ban guns in home self-defense - 17

In an Oct. 9 press released posted on ammo.com, Gun Owners of America issued the following warning:

"Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus has something to say to gun owners: 'Own a gun; lose your coverage!'

"Baucus’ socialized health care bill comes up for a Finance Committee vote on Oct. 13. We have waited and waited and waited for the shifty Baucus to release legislative language. But he has refused to release anything but a summary — and we will never have a Congressional Budget Office cost assessment based on actual legislation. Even the summary was kept secret for a long time.

"But, on the basis of the summary, the Baucus bill (which is still unnumbered) tells us virtually nothing about what kind of policy Americans will be required to purchase under penalty of law — nor the consequences."

They try to get you two ways. No coverage if you own guns, if you smoke, if you are obese, etc. and then they will penalize you if you have no coverage. OH YEAH, They really are trying to look out for the Little guy, so they can screw him big time.

Another f'n outrageous idea. This will probably fail, but it pisses me off that they're even thinking about it. If healthcare is going to be mandatory, and if the government is going to pay for much of it, then gun owners should get a discount--if I shoot some dirtbag in self defense, it saves the taxpayer money. It's cheaper to bury the piece of $#!t than to keep him healthy the rest of his life (and it frees up a jail cell for the next dirtbag).

just because of time served on earth does not mean you grow in mind!why do they think they can hide their distorted view of gun control in a bill and no one will find out. nothing can be hidden from us, and we will be heard, and we will take appropriate action!

Armed America awaits Baucus' pleasure. Citizens of Montana, awake! You sent this bozo to us now remove him, if you please. He probably considers those who elected him as fools. This kind of thinking shouts so.

Did anybody who commented here actually read the bill, or just the ammoland version of it? There is NO language that says anything about owning a gun in the bill. It's too bad there aren't more people out there who strive to learn for themselves instead of being fed manipulated news . . .

This doesn't surprise me any. Even if I haven't read the bill. I don't want or need the government taking care of me or my family! They can't take care of themselves! Hi Seadog!!

Hey JBUG. I don't think el jefe liked my comment. To Jefe, ammoland's article presents a "worse case" scenario that many believe is really going to happen. If you are really "the boss," then you know that legislators often sneak apparently harmless language into bills to allow administrative rules to regulate things never mentioned in the bill. Comprende?

jefe, there are about 5 of these bills, which one did you read? Every one contradicts what is in the other. They have done this so they can have plausible deniablilty. It's too bad people don't pay more attention to the tactics used by the libs. They also send moles in to cause dissent and feed disinformation into sites like this. Would you know anything about that, Hmmmm?

Considering what everyone has had too say about this ObamaCare Program(to which I may or may not need!) in all of these posts, all I can do is just sit back and watch the confusesion that I have about all of this, as it now spreads on to others, and just laugh myself to insanity and beyond, wondering why I even care to post a comment, when I hear a lot of this drama from my relitives back in Arkansas and from friends here in Tennessee about what this guy is going to do next! Good Lord.. He's only there for four years, if not relected! Relax, This man could'nt possibly do as much damage as the "last one" did! Although, the more recent elected presidents seem to be going further down in respectibility in the past few years. "huh"
