Pennsylvania ‘Firearms Freedom Act’ legislation introduced - 4

Pennsylvania State Representative Sam Rohrer has introduced the "Firearms Freedom Act" (HB1988) for consideration in the state legislature. The bill is "An Act prohibiting certain firearms, firearm accessories or ammunition from being subject to Federal law or Federal regulation.":

HB1988 currently has 48 additional co-sponsors, and according to FirearmsFreedomAct.com, is similar to bills recently enacted into law in both Montana and Tennessee. While the bill seems to focus solely on federal gun regulations, it has far more to do with the 10th Amendment’s limit on the power of the federal government.

It specifically states:

The regulation of intrastate commerce is vested in the states under the 9th and 10th Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, particularly if not expressly preempted by federal law. Congress has not expressly preempted state regulation of intrastate commerce pertaining to the manufacture on an intrastate basis of firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition.

State Nullification. The States created the Federal government and not the other way around. If the Federal government thinks that it will endlessly bully the States then the surprise is coming and to Hell with the increasingly despotic national government. Time to remember why we are not Europe and the rest of the world. The Founding Revolutionaries had the correct idea.

It will be interesting to see if the states will really stand up to the feds when the feds start to pull government funding on things, then states go belly up and submit. Happened with the national 55 speed limit in the 70's, I was out of the country when it started and it was a real shock to come back to that.
Federal government is too powerful and the Obamanation thinks he is the second coming. His ego is far too big to lead this country, he probably thinks he can rule the world. But it won't happen if he leaves our Constitution intact. Maybe that is why he is trying to shred it every chance he gets.

Bo:
What these governmental despots forget is that the political power comes from the people or as Mr. Jefferson said, "derive their just powers from the consent of the governed." He also said that if the government became tyrannical that it was our duty to remove it, by force if necessary. Too many Americans forget those truths. However, since a minority of the approximately 3 million colonial Americans did the Revolution, it appears that the same will have to occur again. Sic Semper Tyrannis.
