NRA Firing Back at California Gun Bill - 16
by John Haughey
The NRA and its supporters are promising to fight California Assemblyman Kevin DeLeon’s (D-L.A.) AB 962, a state bill recently signed by Gov. Schwarzenegger that requires stricter control over the purchase of handgun ammunition and bans all Internet ammunition sales. Because Schwarzenegger vetoed the same bill one year ago, gun groups were surprised by the action, reported Katie Browning on Sandiegonewsroom.com on Oct. 27. "We think it was a devastating mistake,'' Sam Paredes, executive director of Gun Owners of California, told the Los Angeles Times. The group represents roughly 30,000 gun owners throughout the state. "Ammunition buyers are going to be treated like registered sex offenders now.'' The bill, which will go into effect on Feb. 11, 2011, requires that purchasers of handgun ammunition be fingerprinted and registered at the time of purchase. Retailers must then maintain these records and make them available for inspection by the Department of Justice. Backed by the NRA and the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA), Assemblyman Curt Hagman (R-Chino Hills) has revised his AB 373 to repeal AB 962. In a press release, Hagman claimed that AB 962 was an attack on the second amendment. `"The laundry list of new requirements in Assembly Bill 962 treats law abiding citizens like criminals," Hagman said. "The only people this bill will affect are those already following the law. My bill will ensure that California's responsible gun owners are not punished by this excessive regulation from Sacramento." The NRA and CRPA are distributing a letter in support of the repeal, which is set to be introduced to the California Legislature in January. "But, you guys from the NRA, don't you CARE that people are being killed by illegal gun?" imagine a whiny voiced, sissified liberal saying this.
Yes we care, and by making more guns or ammunition illegal will not fix the problem. Giving us the opportunity to defend ourselves will.
I live far from California, but this still makes me feel ill. All the best to Mr. Hagman and the other challengers: carpe diem and vaya con Dios!
ten-Roger that.
why would the gov of california sign this hes a gun lover.did they slip this bill by him with other legislation or did they slip him a mickey.lets go nra and its supporters kick some arse!
What's their thought process it isn't going to stop any crime the friggen criminals are just going to get their ammunition through third parties or illegally anyway. They can't even track the individual rounds so what's the point of having this.
Since Arnold is no longer taking anabolic steroids, I guess his estrogen level has become elevated.
Ruckweiler, what many people don't know is anabolic steroids will shrivel your gonads, along with a few other problems. It appears that between the steroids and living with the Kennedys, he has experienced no small amount of brain damage.
Bo:
From the recent beach pictures of him on the internet, at least he doesn't have "bitch-tits."
Bo:
Without weapons, swords and firearms, Arnold wouldn't have had a movie career. He sorta forgets that, doesn't he? Sic Semper Arnold.
Ruck, so many of the elite Hollywood types would not deign to live like the rest of us. They do not understand that the characters they play are what draws the crowds. They also are so much better than us that they don't have to live under our rules, just ask them. They have no clue. I for one will not go to the movies of those who I feel are the most unAmerican. You can figure out who they are.
I've seen 1 movie in a theater in the last 13 years, and that was Cars with the kid at a drive-in. I don't rent movies, hardly watch anything on networks, and just generally try to avoid anything that the Libs in Hollywood make. And, that includes anything the Gov. has done lately. That's just my way of showing my displeasure to all the out-of-touch with reality idiots that make up modern day Hollywood. Screw em!
Being from Kalifornia and an activist on 2nd Amendment Issues, I get to read and talk to the offices of the Buttheads who make and sign these disgusting bills into law. Both afore mentioned Buttheads are cut from the same bolt of cloth and live in the same area of Kalifornia, the southern area of Kalifornia where the trogaladites and crossdressers make their abode. Both Schwartzy and DeLeon are both liberal to the bone and Ignorant to boot.
outspoken, I am SHOCKED to learn that, I would never have believed it if you hadn't told me. ;-D, lol, go figure.

I once heard Charlton Heston on TV once say something about his being fortunate enough to portray some very great people in history. Sadly, his like are gone from Hollywood, with few exceptions, and are replaced by a contemptuous culture of children. As was said in the '60, "Reality Bites" for these folks.
Ruck, these Hollywood types are not a contemptuous culture of children. Children would at some point in time learn to be ashamed of their behavior. These people revel in it and think they are better than we are. I watched the decline of culture back in the 60's as we lost the underpinnings of our civilization. We do not live in a civilized society anymore. For all of its faults, the 50's were not as bad as it has been portrayed. With a few exceptions, (that being the Civil Rights movement) the 50's were far more "civilized" than the 60's. The one thing the 60's brought was a consciousness of civil rights. In that aspect it was good. Just about everything else turned into a downward spiral to degadation and debasing behavior under the name of "freedom."
they should ally themselves with like minded organizations and the media backed by some very ghood attorneys and then once they have a well organized plan of action with multiple avenues of attack ...move forward and do so without mercey.. and maybe they will regain the members and pride they once had.
I wish them the best in their pursuit I also wish they would do so more efficiently
