i am only14 years old and 7 years ago my dad took the pledge to take me fishing and made me the fisher i am today. so change a childs life and take them fishing.
let me know if you are going to do this or have already done so.
take the time to tell me the story in your posted comments if you have time.
I was fortunate enough to be be blessed and have a 12 year old sister who I was recently able to get into hunting and fishing. I think she likes fishing a litle bit more though. I bought a boat and a brand new rod for her. A small ugly stick works best for her. As we were trolling in the beaver creek lake, Makenna noticed that her pole was keeling over almost doubled. To the look on her face was priceless, she did not know what to do. I talked her through the fight and to her suprise was a 12 lb Northern Pike. She was so amazed and would not stop talking about it for months. She does not know but I took control of the fish and I am currently having it mounted for her. She will get it back well here in abouta week. I cant wait to see the look on her face. Just the simple task of catching a fish gave her a whole new outlook on the outdoors, and it instilled a few things into her heart, I cant really explaine it but I can see it in the way she acts now. Priceless I cant wait to do that with my kids when I have some.
that is really great i am glad that you have done this for her
thats good... i am only 15 and i wish my dad took that pledge... but i am one heck of a fishermen
Good to hear takemefishing.org is making a difference. You should check out the new virtual fishing game on the site--http://tinyurl.com/catchaboat. I hope you're going to enjoy some time on the real water for National Fishing and Boating week though!
