I remember seeing in one of the past magazines, an article about making home-made shooting sticks and it included a set of instructions. I would like to know if there are any plans available?
Groffeaston, if you can email me at bjsundling@gmail.com I will try to take some pictures of my setup and send them to you.It may help give you an idea of how I did it. It may be a week or two to get it done but it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks Bo. I Remember seeing the shooting stick article in a section that was ideas from the readers. It had a drawing/instructions on how to make them.
I know I still have that particular Outdoor Life Magazine somewhere here in the house. It is downstairs in the basement in a box with other magazines, probably buried under other stuff.
I am not too good at making things without a set of plans in front of me to guide me, but will give it a try. Thanks for the reply.
I don't remember seeing any plans, but I made some with a shock-corded tent pole kit. Two sections of pole make up each stick. Ran the shock cord through each one, drilled a hole in the metal ferrule using a long thin bolt with washers in between the two sticks. Put a small piece of dowel into the metal ferrule and taped it in place with camo duct tape to provide some cushion for my gun.Works great, cost about $7 or $8, total. I have killed several deer with this setup.
