Welcome to Outdoor Life
Rifles
Here is a video I found that is, I think, impressive. To me, I am most impressed that the shooter wasn't hurt. You can hear elk in the background and hear the excitement the hunter feels as he gets ready to shoot. But it ought to make you think, is the barrel clear of obstructions?

All I can say is WOW!! My father allways told me to check my barrel all the time make sure there is no dirt or rocks in the barrel. Now I see what he is talking about thanks for the video Bo
that was wild!!!
50,000 psi hitting an obstruction had to go somewhere. This guy is so lucky not to be wearing parts of that barrel and/or action. Years ago my brother and I were pass shooting between two sloughs where the mallard were passing in waves. We had done a poor job of handloading some 3 " Magnum shells, so we knew some of the loads were low pressure and suspect. Such loads can leave the wad in the barrel and the gun should not be fired until the barrel is checked for obstructions. I heard my brother's Remington 870 go off with less than a bang but he followed up with a second shot that was clearly a heavy load. I walked down and told him, as brothers do, that he was a #$#$ idiot for firing that second shot. "Yeah, yeah I know and you're right." he said. Only then did we notice there was a bulge half way down the barrel and a 4 inch piece folded downward at a 45 degree angle. There were no holes in him or his hip waders. Only luck can safe you when you do something stupid with a firearm. l
Wow that would be insane to have happen, that is lucky that it wasn't worse.
I don't believe you can buy the Chinese made firearms in the USA. Noriinco is the commercial firearms division of the Chinese Red Army and they don't seem to mind copying various firearms. They turn out many rifle models including the SKS, numerous pistols and even the M1A which they refer to as the M-14. I had a M-14 with a head space problem that could easily have cost me some fingers or worse. The ruptured .308 brass blew the clip apart and down out of the rifle, it split the stock and numbed my fingers and altogether scared the hell out of me. You get what you pay for and cheap when it comes to a firearm can be a dangerous proposition. I now own a Springfield M1A, it is one accurate battle rifle and one that I trust enough to have overcome my flinch left over from the cheap fake.
glad the guy didnt get his face blown off thanks bo
Amazing video. Reminds me of my father's advice about never shooting a Damascus barreled rifle. Now I know why.
I had a brand new Stoeger Condor 12ga o/u stock splinter and break on its second shot last spring. Scared me pretty good, and left a bad taste in my mouth for all Stoeger products.
my dad always tell me to check my gun and make sure i dont let the barrel touch the ground or go in snow. i then saw my dads friend with black electrician tape arround the end of his barrell so no obstruction could get in and the tape does not effect the gun or accuracy
