Found a new natural bug repellant!

. Uploaded on July 04, 2009

I recently bought this new product on the market and I have to say, I love it!!! I don't like the typical bug sprays because of the harmful effects deet can have on you. So when I came across this spray, which is all natural and does not contain deet, I had to give it a try! It worked so well and actually had a fresh smell to it! I definitely want to recommend it to everyone reading this, as I have already told all my friends and family about it! I found it on this website www.westcoastjuniper.com , it's pretty inexpensive for an all natural spray, and the quality is unbeatable! Hope this helps!

I have used these products and if you are in serious bug country forget it. They smell nice maybe work as a cover scent and repel the wimpiest of bugs.... But the bugs intent on eating you will not be deterred by this.
BTW, the ELk that posted this has no connection to charlie elk!

Hey Charlie Elk,
I looked into the "naturals" and found that all but this Horse and Handler product only use 1 or 2 oils. This Horse and Handler uses 10 diffrent essential oils, all known to repel bugs. I'm sorry to disagree with you but this one works! I wonder if you have actually tried Horse and Handler?

Hey Tiffany,
Yep, tried it and many other essential oil concoctions. For moderate bugs DEET and ThermaCell are the way to go. Best defense - clothes soaked in military spec permethrin with head net is the only hope for tough bug situation. Closest thing to the mobile bubble DJH. ;=)

Perhaps the essential oils will work in a city park or some backyards but not where I hang out. Reminds me a few years ago when Avon Skin so Soft was touted as the best safest mosquito repellant. Well I lead a scout trip to the Arctic Circle and some of the group used skin so soft - with all their soft skin they made great mosquito decoys, they were heroes - saved the rest of us. ;=)
Good luck selling this one Tiffany.

Well Charlie Elk, I also live in the deep woods and this product does work! A question for you... This product is new on the market and has been sold in very limited quantities in Southern Oregon. When and where did you purchase Horse and Handler? Because obviously you have NOT used it or you would know it works.

WOW,
I just stumbled upon a pesticide info site that states...a 5 year old girl, sprayed with DEET... died 24 hours days after hospitilization.
8 year old girl has siezures following exposure to Muskol and OFF repellants....
There are many cases on this site discussing the bad things that DEET does. Pretty scary stuff.
Here is the site... www.pesticideinfo.org/references/134-62-3hsdb.doc
I know I will never use another DEET product again! After seeing this data I wonder how it is allowed to be sold!
The naturals ARE the way to go!

ThermaCell. If it works here in Florida, it should work anywhere. A lot of people down here just stay in the air conditioning, but that doesn't work for me. Thanks for the warning, Tiffany, but I'll still keep some DEET on hand just in case.

Nice report but people die from just about evreything. I've been spraying bug spray right on my body for many years never had no side effects oh wait unless you count this extra head growing out my back!! just joking. But really I dont think the scare tatics work when your trying to sell something unless your the goverment & you have main stream media backing you! Like I said befor the only way to beat the blood suckers is a mobile bubble are like charlie elk brought up someone with softer skin & better tasting blood then you lol.
