Q:Western Canada is experiencing a very wet spring/summer--to the extent that a very high percentage of wheat did not get planted across the prairies.Ducks Unlimited Canada along with Bayer Crop Science are offering farmers substantial incentives to plant winter wheat.Hopefully if the weather cooperates, the farmers can get this in the ground later this year.At this point however there is certainly going to be less for the birds as they begin the migration. So if you notice birds ahead of normal this year let us know up in Canada--picking in the fields is going to be sparse at best.Winter wheat will produce some green feed -- if the weather allows for planting.

Q:I have recently started hunting some new land. People that live near the land report never seeing turkey on or near the land. The land seems perfect for turkeys with some hardwoods, some softwoods, open fields and water sources. Can you tell me why there might not be turkeys on this land or what I can do to introduce turkeys to the area?
