Ugliest Fish Ever
Record giant fish get the attention of anglers, especially when they are truly huge, and particularly, well, ugly. This week we're looking exclusively at Oklahoma's ugly fish.
B.J. Nabors was only on his second catfishing trip when he caught this Oklahoma state record blue catfish weighing 98 pounds. He was fishing from shore in November on Lake Texoma (Tishomingo arm), using a whole shad for bait. Caught with 20-pound test line, the fish was 54 ½-inches long, with a nearly 40-inch girth. 7 is really ugly!!!!
Yeah it's almost as ugly as the dude holding it.
Most fish that are not gutted and filleted are generally ugly! Some are pretty amazing to look at but when they're out of the water they look awful.
Yep thats a gar.

Wonder how old those big fish are? Dont see any catch and release on those big breeding gar.Won't be long before Wildlife Agencies will have to protect those big gar.
How old would a gar that big be? Seems like as with any wildlife or fishery resource, rough or not, if you kill all of the big spawners, eventurally there will not be any left. As a kid in Alabama we used to routinely catch and kill big gar, but I have not seen or caught one in the Magnolia River in years. Maybe that was just a habitat change, but it seems that they may be overharvesting. Shoot all the carp you can, then make like the Indians and use them for fertilizer.
Those are some great fish.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
NICE GAR ! Seen bigger when I was a kid though, Not kidding !, Not by much though.
I just went & bought my gear for the couple of months of fishing I get. I cant wait for my chance to hook on to my own ugly fish!!Good photos
As kids we used to laugh at stories of divers who would come tearing and screaming out of the water after an encounter with a huge cat. But, we never saw one up close. It would be jarring for an unsuspecting diver to come face to face with an ugly fish that could swallow your entire head.
