Big, Bad Black Bears
There’s something about black bears that captivates hunters. Big bruins are impressive in their power and strength. And, of course, they are fully capable of killing people. Here's some of the biggest and baddest ever taken.
This top-ranked SCI black bear was taken by bowhunter Robert J. Shuttleworth Jr. It was arrowed during a self-guided September hunt in California’s Mendocino County. Those are some nice bears. I have wanted to go bear hunting for a long time, but were i live it is hard to get a tag.

I think I will stick to deer hunting! them things are huge!
Those bears are impressive. Did anyone record how much they weigh or just the skull measurements?
Yet another interesting OL article with good pictures and a lot of information. One thing I noticed is that some of the bears do not really have impressive body mass however their skull measurements are, well, record setting.
Those are some big bears
I have had more than a few bear run-ins where I used to live in New Hampshire, but never anything THAT big.....and I'm glad I didn't.
All these bear are nice. But we kill them big in Pa too. Not just with big heads but by body size too.I've seen a few bear with huge heads but only weighed about 3 or 4 hundred.
