coyotes are tough animals and you gotta be in the right place at the right time and play your whole hand of cards right. i've had some luck at places people would never dream of, like rock quarry's right on city limits, and ive had no luck in thick woods and rolling fields. You just have to keep persuing them. they're a great challenge and provide great hunts. every one is a trophy.
Here in the northest we have Coywolfy, our coyotes are interbred with wolves and average 60 to 70 lbs and anyway you kill'em is fine by me, your little western coyotes are no huge problem like ours. Our coyotes predate on fawns, does and even large bucks with no problem, they are huge and take down large deer with no problem. So anyone in the northeast kill the coyotes, even if you just run them over while scouting or driving to the store, do us all a favor. Plus they should have a new law, kill a coyote then you get a second buck tag.
Pa-leeeze. How much sport is it to hunt them with rifles. Here in Illinois real hunters harvest them with bows. My best shot was at 22yards-dropped her in her tracks. Three minutes later I arrowed another female that was also investigating my calls.
Yes good job there are too many coyotes and foxes. I've tried calling but have had no luck. In fact most people that I know of who have tried calling have had no luck. You must be dong something right.
