Shotguns: A Look Back (2007)
One advantage of the SHOT Show is writers have the chance to test many of the new products to give accurate reviews. Many guns are put side-by-side for comparison (and a little competition). This is a great chance to gauge trends in the industry and see which direction design is moving. Here's a look back at last season's best shotguns.

I have used a few pistol grip guns, and I think that st first it feels weird, but once you get used to it, you miight really like it.
i have a rem 870 and a franchi i 12 both in 12 gauge. both are exellent and reliable guns.
If you haven't used the Benelli Cordoba...you need to buy one. The Cordoba has porting which basically eliminates muzzle climb during a rapid fire sequence and it isn't any louder to the ears than a standard O/U gun. With the ComforTech system I shoot 2 3/4 and 3" loads by the box and not only do I not "feel" jarred...my shoulder has absolutely no bruising after 6-7 boxes of 3" loads.
This gun is simply a dream to shoot!
i see the new turkey gun looks like police model dont know if i like the pistol grip plus the stock looks to thin to use i like original stock types

looks like a really nice gun
i think the pistol grip stock gives it a military look that comes during a time when assault rifles are popular along with our troops, It might even give a little extra support when shotting at stationary objects hence a bit better grouping. The only turkey i've seen that would sit this still is the decoy,Shotguns can be useful for many types of game so this pistol grip feature is limited to probably just turkeys and the ones you hunt.
the winchester o/u is over priced to be in a duck blind, for that kind of money i'd have to be holding on to some very pretty wood,
the cordoba benneli appears to be a bird hunters dream come true, still for that money where's the pretty wood ?
the 12 ga, pump with scope is another one trying to ride the new fad , i love pumps , but have no use for this one .
the S/ W semi auto is getting into the meat of the matter, priced right and flexible to change
the no. 6 o/u priced right and has the wood feel, this shotgun will keeps it's value or increse with time.
i suppose when it comes to side by sides you either luv em or you don;t,personally i never felt comfortable w/ eye alignment on this wide of plain, still the L C SMITH has always been highly regarded and are coveted by collectors ,
the BARETTA makes a lot of claims, can it backem up ? sounds like a lot of gadjets at work cleaning the cyclinders , i;m not to sure if this one is as dependable as i'm led to believe , time will tell .
S/W SIDE BY side a pretty gun, cost is a bit much ,
