I wouldn't put so much emphasis on the rifle choice, most calibers from a 270 and up will do, as long as you have put some rounds through it and are comfortable shooting it. My choice would be the '06, you have been using one and should be comfortable with it, so by your own. Besides, its a great all-round caliber for future hunts.
