We all know that a survival situation can occur when we least expect it, but the problem with a lot of survival equipment is that—outside of a pocket knife—not much of it is something you carry around with you from day to day. When's the last time you had 25 to 200 feet of paracord at the ready?
This is one of those "why didn't I think of that?" ideas! Pretty clever...and if I had any doubts on getting one or not, the donation they make is enough to make up my mind for me.
Do you still need more proof that the grasslands can produce monster bucks? Take a lesson from Josh Spies, a South Dakota native. You may have heard of Josh before, he’s the winner of the 2008 Federal Duck Stamp contest and an award winning artist with an eye for wildlife and hunting. Pioneering artist Terry Redlin was one of Josh’s mentors and encouraged the young artist into the career of art. The Federal Duck Stamp contest was the 76th annual and the new stamp will go on sale in June 2009. Josh is also an avid hunter and not only has he hunted across North America, but also across the globe (www.joshuaspies.com).
I agree with 6phunter and Bo...unfortunatly, hunting is becoming a rich man's sport more and more. And, the other sad part is that the people who can afford to pay big money to hunt deer on these ranches basically just go out and shoot something. A lot of these deer are pretty much raised like cattle. Like when you see hunting shows on TV and you see them shoot deer with tags in their ears! And a lot of the huge deer you see taken today are taken on these private ranches and basically "bought" by people who can afford it. In my opinion, there is a difference between going out and just "killing something" and "hunting". I prefer to hunt...
You’ve probably seen the television commercials for Southwest Airlines, where someone does something incredibly bone-headed, and the announcer asks, “Wanna get away?”
We figure that’s probably how Rusty Saunders of Fort Edward, N.Y. felt after he shot—and tagged—what he thought was an elk while hunting in Montana’s Paradise Valley last November.
It's unbelievable that there are so many people out there hunting that don't know what they're pointing their gun at when they pull the trigger...scary...BUT, as STUPID as it was that he did that, at least he did the right thing and turned himself in once he FINALLY realized the mistake that he made.
These photos came to us with this brief description:
The news is out. After keeping this brute a perfect secret all throughout the season "Big Louie" was found dead. The 250-inch buck was discovered by two pheasant-hunting friends.
That buck is RIDICULOUS...the fact that a deer can get that big without being taken by a hunter is proof that big bucks get big for a reason...they're smarter than us, hahaha

Biggest Crocs Ever!14
Huge, toothy and aggressive, crocodiles are among the most dangerous animals on the planet. Here are 14 of the biggest ever taken.
I'll bet the people that live around there are more than happy to see some hunters take a few of those giants out of their water supply!
