  • Death Dive

We often receive photos and stories that are just too good not to share. Check out this mountain lion's bid for his last supper.

Reminds me of Vietnam. That was a waste of life too.

  • GIANT Buck Update

Real? A hoax? Photoshopped? Answers to your 400-inch whitetail questions.

It has been my experience that if you walk a mile in another mans shoes you will gain understanding of the man. Real or not, hormones or not, it is still OUTSTANDING! Maybe some day when you are too old to hunt and fish you will rub our noses in it. Till then I thank you for the great story, pictures, and controversy. I don't mind being fooled so I choose to believe. Thanks Friend for a little color in a rather drab time.

  • World Record Buck?

Has the next world record whitetail been found?

OUTSTANDING!!! Can't wait for the offical results.

  • Monster Mule Deer

Avid deer hunters know how tough it is to tag a record-book whitetail.  But collecting a trophy mule deer is even tougher. Mulies are significantly fewer in number than whitetails, and many of the big boys live in very wild places. The following SCI trophy bucks are worth a long look.

One of these has long been a dream of mine. SWEET!!

  • Wild Outdoor Stories
    12

Truth is stranger than fiction when it comes to these real life outdoor stories.

I agree with lionkiller23. No wonder people are reluctant to do what is right. I once shot at a buck and killed a doe on the other side of it and when I turned it in to Fish and Game and explained what happened they confiscated my rifle and took away my hunting privledges for a year and fined me $350. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to do what is right. Semper Fi Sgt. Rush!

  • Leopard Attack! A True Story of Survival in the African Bush
    11

Ask any professional hunter and he'll doubtless tell you that the wild country south of Lake Cabora Bassa in central Mozambique is not a clever place to wound a leopard. Even so, PH Wayne Williamson volunteered to help a fellow guide track one down last summer. Here is his story.

Too bad the client didn't have to dispatch the cat. Maybe he would become a better shot as a result.

  • Backcountry Grizzly Attack
    18

On September 12, Ron Leming Jr. and his Dad survived a harrowing bowhunt for elk in Wyoming's backcountry. Instead of a trophy bull, the duo encountered a huge boar grizzly bear. What follows is the story and photos of that experience as told to OL Senior Editor Brian Lynn.

My best advice would be to always carry a .44 Mag. when in bear country. Wow! What a night mare!
