I would carry a pistol. But if i was in your situation i would shoot the bear if it was a black bear or shoot close to it if it were a brown bear.

Yes, most of the time it is extremely effective against black bears and grizzilys alike. Most often though when a black bear or any bear for that matter charges it is usually a bluff. Worst case senerio if it dosen't work shoot it!

Yes, this is an extremely powerful rifle which could almost be used for anything.
There are many plants that you can eat. I would recomend that you get a book on these plants for your area.
Compounds are better. These are traditional and make the hunter work more for his game. I also believe compounds are better because crossbows are too much like guns.
I prefer biskets and gravy over eggs.
I was told by a goose hunter in washington to set up your goose decoys in a horse shoe shape because when the birds come in they see a large flock of birds and they can all land together in the empty space of the horse shoe.
Q:What should i set the poundage on my bow to if i hunt everything from mule deer to bear?

Yes, a buck will mate with more then one doe. They do this to better their chance of spreading their genes.
The one that is the worst would be the fact that a bow cannot have anything that is electronic on it such as a camera in Washington.
