Though she bearly got away...she probably is the reason the bear keeps coming back by not bear proofing her place..so she has guilty regrets.
The how, where, when and what you should shoot, harvest, take...is all the measure of yourself...your oportunities , needs or wants. I found the taking of game was mu more important when I started hunting...now its all about the trip..my friends and family times.
I have a Remington Model 7, in 7mm saum with a 3-9 leopold compact scope and back up open sights. I have used it in Idaho for Black Bear and Elk. I love th package and its a nice gun to carry and use in timber.
I visited Cabelas and got a great 50 cal package deal for a price that still makes me smile..
Here most hogs are in dense brush and mixed lightly wooded areas. I like a fast handeling carbine, lever or semi auto in a cartridge thats quick and accurate up to 150 yards. 357, 45, 44, 30/30 all good choices for whee I hunt hogs.
Truly , when one plays golf they do not use just one club...or if tennis is yourme ya need more than one rackett...perhaps a nice 308 or 30-06 for stuff that doesnt tend to wat to eat you...and a .338 or larger n of the same type and operation for that which would enjoy rendering you into its dinner.
Well, pressure to have it can bring about better things for the sportsman and families of your state than the NO you already have.
Training is a good idea in an age where few people grow up arond and using guns. Yes, everyone has a right to have firearms, and in this day and age hen using the right a responsible person has as much training and gathered knowledge on any laws, methods and equipment attached to using a gun in self defense as possible. Ths is a good thing..and lets be honest..SOME people should never carry guns, they are neither prepared, trained or safe in their usage.
Baiting squirrels...is mostly done by Mother nature..I prefer to enjoy the hunting as much as the getting..so ill continue to wander the woods and see if my luck combines with my knowledge and the squirrels time schedule to yield results.
Because of the many various places and sizes of critters I like to hunt..my current favorite is a Remington model 7 in 7mm Rem saum, with a leopold 3-9 compact scope..a nice easy to carry and great to shoot accurate combo with plenty of power.
