    On September 12, Ron Leming Jr. and his Dad survived a harrowing bowhunt for elk in Wyoming's backcountry. Instead of a trophy bull, the duo encountered a huge boar grizzly bear. What follows is the story and photos of that experience as told to OL Senior Editor Brian Lynn.

    It's good you're OK, but running from any bear, even during a charge, is a bad idea. Most bears veer away. Even a can of pepper spray could very well have deterred it--you can fire it from its holster. And I don't mean to be insulting, but it's really not a "huge" bear, although I'm sure it seemed plenty big enough.
