I dont know about this ranch but I do know that east Texas has a serious hog problem. I killed three this year just deer hunting and have game cam pics of 20+ under one feeder. Too bad helicopters dont do any good here.

  • Norman The Nutria

Talk about delicious irony. What are the odds of finding a story about two species of vermin--tort lawyers and nutria--where both play an integral role in the tale?

You can’t make this stuff up.

Meet Norman Nutria (the swamp rat), and Anthony Fontana (the lawyer).

pretty wild story. it seems walmart attracts lawsuits like that. in our local walmart an employee sued because he fell off the top step of a ladder. you know the one that says DO NOT STAND, right above the next to top step that says DO NOT STAND ON TOP TWO STEPS.

  • "Oh Deer!"

Motor vehicle accidents involving deer are commonplace in certain regions of the country. Usually it’s a simple front bumper and grill affair—and a $2,000 (or more) deductible.

But an incident involving a minvan and a deer in Connecticut this week has to be one of the wildest we’ve ever run across.

  • thats crazy! a deer ran into the side of my girlfriends car, but she noticed it and pulled over to check her car and everything. luckily it didnt go through the window, but there was hair stuck behind the plastic trim and it left a pretty good scrape. she hit another deer in that exact same spot about a year before that. over a third of the texas deer population is harvested each year with the population still rising. imagine if there wasnt hunting to curb this growth?

  • Great First Deer Guns

Starting off with the right gun can ensure both success and a lifetime of hunting enjoyment.

my first deer rifle was a winchester .243, however a killed my first deer with my dads .308. i was in second grade and as the smallest in my class a youth model probably wouldnt have fit me if i had had one lol. since i was so small i had to put my arm over the stock instead of behind it. my dad was supposed to take the recoil but i took such a long time aiming that he slacked off and when i shot the scope came back and nailed me right between the eyes leaving a huge goose egg for the pictures. a youth gun might not have done any good in my case but for other young hunters it has definite benefits. the only thing i think should be seriously considered is the cost since they will grow out of it. the recoil should also be considered because for a while after that i flinched every time i pulled the trigger on any deer rifle. a .243 or a .223 are good candidates.
