  • Funny stories

When pat McManus left outdoor life he must have taken comedy with him as funny stories have been few and far inbetween. So in his honor I would like to share a few funny stories about the outdoors and hope that other readers will post some as well. As I remember more I will add them. WHITE MEN CANT JUMP
  • Purchases based on OL gear tests. Good or bad results?

I would like to hear about any gear that was purchased based on a Outdoor Life recommendation and whether or not the gear lived up to that Recommendation. I recently used outdoor life gear tests to decide on a new bass rod. Having a limited budget I purchased a rod that was in last years gear test and reel from this years best buy award. The were a st. croix bass mojo rod and a bass pro shop Johnny Morris reel. When I went to Bass pro to buy them they were both on sale and only ended up costing me a $180.
  • Thanks for the laughs, Pat!

From the time I was able to read I would look forward to trying to get to trying to beat my dad to the mailbox to recieve the next issue of Outdoor Life. Like many other readers the first thing I would do is flip to the last page and read Pat McManus' Last laugh. I grew up reading theses stories and could relate to so many of his crazy tales. Thank you Mr. McManus for your years of hilarious stories and for giving my father and I one more thing to bring us closer. I wish you the best in your retirement and hope that you will still occasionally send in a story or two. Best of luck.
