i hunted in the Umtanum unit one year the cattle where all over the place during muzzleloader season the feed was far and in between. I normaly hunt the Cowiche unit. the ranchers where up the moving the cattle around on horses and fourwheelers. before the season opened. the feed there was low the elk were moved around cus of the cattle drive. it sucks when you get in to a great looking area to find that cattle were there first.

I have heard that one to. I think it is kind of true. I was told that its the whites of your eyes they pick up and when you blink it changes making them spook. I try to look more out of the corner of my eyes if possible. i bow hunt so if i remember i put my face net over my eyes when i get in to a long stare down

just like some of the other guys said. you let the wildlife run high numbers they will eat all the feed for other species. and then the one with more dominace will die off cause they ate the food down to nothing. and diseases would be outraguos. then next would be possibly us
To me it all depends on if your getting old and cant get up in to the unbeattin path. Where i live you cant shoot for or across a maintianed road. Plus they have this red dot green dot road system Eastern Washington. which is to but less stress on aminals. On the Westside almost all the roads are gated so you have to walk in. The game department has a program for disabled so they can get keys.
