Here’s the best way to waterproof your leather boots and gloves. The best part? It’s dirt-cheap. This trick will also soften and preserve the leather. Just pick up a wax toilet gasket at the local hardware store, clean up your boots or gloves with a brush or cloth, and then warm them in the sun or in front of a stove or heater.
