I carry an Emerson CQC7 made by Benchmade and it could become illegal under the new guidelines. I've had it for years and has served me well. This is one more step, I believe in the government pushing us to see how much daily interference we will put up with. That in turn tells them if they will meet with resistance as they continue with increased control in our personal lives. We are fast on our way to becoming under as much governmental control as was experienced by the Russians or any of the Eastern Bloc nations during the cold war. To see how much different it is there is cartoon from 50 years ago that tells the story better than I ever could. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WB6p5QPVhPI&NR=1
The government is insane. The next thing they ban will be hammers then boards then sharp sticks. They keep trying to protect us from ourselves without reason. If they would concentrate on improving schools and education maybe they would get a few kids who would be smart enough that they wouldn't need to be protected from themselves. I'm not saying there aren't some smart people out there...but it seems they are getting fewer and farther between...and most of the real dumb ones end up in government!
The government will do what ever it wants to till someone ( a lot of people get together,)Yes you are right banding pocket knives would be wrong, but what else you know they don't care about it its the money going in their pockets. that's my opinion. As for carrying a fix blade don't get cough in Florida its against the law here. you can if you have a canceled permit here or some sort of sport like fishing, hunting ect... that you are doing at the time! I agree we all do need to carry some kinda 3" plus pocket knife. you'll never know when you need it. I used mines everyday I have a benchmade that lasted me about six months. thats how much i used my knives for everything I need to used a knife it even in the kitchen.you said it in the video great job
Just received a return letter from the U.S.Senater Jeff Sessions of South Alabama concerning this matter.Which contains a bunch of hoopla .On July 9,2009 the senate passed the bill, but the house has not yet, there is some conflict on the definition of a switchblade. The only GOOD thing is that all knives made in the U.S.A. ARE EXEMPT from this law ,it is on the importation of knives from other countries.Knives that are already in your possesion or in the country will not be affected.Senator Cornyn introduced this amendment and is the one behind it those of you who wish to convey your thoughts know where to direct them .I still have my Grandfathers whittling knife and my fathers pocket knife they are a way of life i choose not to give up.

Oh what a great idea ban my 2 inch blade folding knife. Now to do my job properly, (farming) i will have to carry my 3.5 inch fixed blade hunting knife. Genius. I must say this administration will be bringing along many lovely laws like this now wont they.
i didnt watch the video but something like this was on field and stream if youre refering to the one hand opening law (any knife that can be opened with one hand will be illegal) no ones going to listen to it half the time i pull me knife my left hand is holding something together or something up i rarely have two hands to open it its either my 3.25 inch pocket knife i carry or i can carry my fixed blade hunting knife
You kow they don't trust you to protect yourself so the big government has to do it for you. They, or course, know what is best for you. Didn't he say interstate trade? I always carry a pocket knife. And its usually one that I can open one handed since, like Matt, my other hand is usually holding what I need to cut. Guess I need to contact my representatives.

The key idea is that the government is not trying to protect US from ourselves. They are trying to protect themselves from US.
