Mention Hammerli and accuracy comes to mind, because for generations this Swiss firm has made some of the world’s most accurate and beautifully made pistols and rifles. The name Hammerli also causes visions of dollar signs to dance in your head like Sugar Plum fairies, which is why they have remained only a wish for many of us checkbook-challenged daydreamers. But those dreams can now come true with Hammerli’s new Trailside .22 Rimfire autoloading pistols. These budget-priced sport/target pistols feature the same one-piece barrel and frame construction that made Hammerli’s 2085 target model an Olympic Medal winner, and feature a crisp two-stage trigger pull, the type favored by most of the world’s top target shooters. Another feature is a scope-mounting rail machined into the frame, which means that the usual blocks are eliminated for smoother looking, more rigid scope mounting. The Trailside .22 comes in 41/2-inch or 6-inch barrel lengths in a target model with contoured wood grips and click adjustable sights or a sport version with synthetic grips semi-fixed sights.
