Outerwear 2006

Apparel continues to evolve to meet the demands of consumers and retailers alike. This year soft shells will gain substantial penetration and “outdoor” styles continue to expand in most store’s floor plans. Outerwear manufacturers are trying to make outdoor retailers a final stop for the average hunter’s hunting and casual needs. Here’s a look at what 2006 will bring to your store.

| Drake
Ideal to wear with waders, the Eqwader combats two totally different environments at the same time. The long-sleeve Federal Cotton Touch Shirt is made from a premium high-performance 100 percent spun polyester twill. The unique fabric offers the feel of cotton and the performance of polyester. The polyester yarn is etched to increase the overall surface area and to provide superior moisture displacement-it dries eight times faster than conventional polyester. The shirt is treated with an antimicrobial agent to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria.

| Mad Dog Gear
Mad Dog Gear’s insulated Dead Silent Plus Jacket features 100-gram Thinsulate Ultra and fabric that is extra thin to minimize bulk in pockets, storm flaps and wrist cuffs. This roomy-cut jacket is constructed of wind-resistant fleece for extra comfort and weather protection.

Natural Gear
Natural Gear’s Turkey Vest has a new full-shoulder design with a center H-strap to balance the vest and any game-bag load. It’s constructed with a strong polytricot material that is quiet and fade and wear resistant, and there’s a thick removable cushion seat and back pad for long sits.

Quick-access front friction call, box call and striker carriers with internal zippered pockets keep gear organized. This year Woolrich expands its line of Camwoolflage for turkey hunters with new, lighter-weight wool, chamois and fleece in the same universal pattern created for winter wool hunting coats. The 70 percent virgin wool and 30 percent nylon jacquard Camwool-flage Hunt coat has a body and sleeve liner of 100 percent nylon.
