2013 Aluma UT12 Trailer

Unless you’re lucky enough to own an abundance of land that helps keep your riding experience fresh, it’s likely that you’ll eventually get stuck trailering your ATV or SxS to a killer ride spot like I usually do. A dependable trailer that won’t leave me stranded along the road has been at the top of my wish list ever since my first 12-foot steel ATV trailer broke in half, thanks to a rust infested frame. That experience taught me a valuable lesson, and since I hang my hat in the heart of the Rust Belt, I vowed to never own another steel trailer again.
Aluma designs and manufactures some of the finest all-aluminum trailers on the planet. What separates Aluma from many other trailer manufacturers is the fact that everything (except the axle assembly, coupler, and jack) is constructed of aluminum. Gone are the days of replacing warped pressure-treated wood decking after a few seasons of sitting out in the weather.
The Aluma UT12 is a brand new model for Aluma in 2013. I spent about two months hauling ATVs and SxSs of all sizes, including wide, long-travel and multi-passenger SxSs like the Polaris RZR XP900 and Polaris Ranger Crew Diesel. The Aluma UT12 handled both of these unusually large machines with ease. My sub-compact utility tractor fit with ease–even with the front-end loader attached. Since the trailer sits low to the ground, I was able to load the tractor without the attached mower deck getting hung up.
The Aluma UT12 is chock full of premium features like smooth-riding torsion axles, bright LED lights, and a swiveling front tie-down loop that makes a perfect spot to attach a winch. My favorite features are the integrated lockable front storage box and the sliding rear ramp that stores internally within its own compartment under the back of the trailer. The lightweight design is also worth mentioning. It allows mid-size trucks to easily pull the UT12 trailer, even when loaded to capacity.

If you’re in the market for a trailer with enough capability to handle a single SxS, a large ATV, or even a sub-compact utility tractor, the Aluma UT12 (or smaller UT10) will suit your needs well. Its lightweight aluminum construction should deliver years of maintenance-free service, giving owners more time to focus on riding instead of messing around with a rusty old trailer.
