Exploring Mozambique on Polaris Rangers

My buddy Johann Kamp, from South Africa, just sent me a few photos from his last adventure into Mozambique, along the Save River. His group spent two weeks on Polaris Rangers without any main support vehicles.

That’s an impressively long ride with no back up. The Polaris Ranger is a capable touring machine, even before modifying the SxS’s into mini overland vehicles. They had a few broken shocks and a few flats, but that was about it.

The tour started at the Pafuri Border Post and proceeded towards the river, driving past a few landmine-blown vehicles (the Mozambique War ended around 20 years ago). They continued down the river and proceeded to the coastal town of Vilanculos.

I went on a ride with Johann along the eastern coast of South Africa about five years ago. He keeps inviting me back out. If you’re interested in one of these epic rides, please leave a comment below and I will try to hook you up.
