You should see enough mule deer bucks here to be selective; the herd is at about 567,000 deer. Look to Montrose, Eagle and Dolores counties for better bucks and harvest success rates above 50 percent. Stand-out areas are found around Craig, namely Units 3, 4 and 441. Also check out the Grand Mesa Units 42 and 421 east of Grand Junction.
