Central and eastern Massachusetts will produce the highest proportion of the 2002 harvest, and private land is the hot bet here, though gaining access can be difficult. Zone 11, which has been expanded, was for the past two years a top harvest area. Big bucks are spread throughout the state. This year the archery season has been expanded statewide to six weeks and the muzzleloader season runs to December 31.
