Look for Utah’s best mule deer hunting in the northeastern and central regions. Better spots include the southern slopes of the Uinta Range, the interior Wasatch Mountains and pockets of the Southern Region. The deer herd is at about 310,000, far below the statewide objective of 425,000. Northeastern- and northernregion permits may still be available.
