Gas funnels of yesteryear aren’t the same as those manufactured today. They were large galvanized metal contraptions farmers and ranchers used to pour fuel and oil into tractors and other equipment. But if you can get your hands on one–and combine it with a good diaphragm call–you’ll pique the interest of randy bulls from farther away than you will with a plastic funnel.

“Start by making a low ‘grrr’ sound for a second, then put your tongue on the roof of your mouth and make a high-pitched whistle into the diaphragm for three seconds,” says caller extraordinaire Rockie Jacobsen.
