I have to say that when I first planned this trip, I didn't know how I'd react to the high volume hunting where there are no limits and you can kill hundreds of birds a day. I felt a lot better when it was explained that these are non-migratory birds, they breed five times a year, and can wipe out 20 percent or more of farmer's crops. In other words, they're prairie dogs with wings, a nuisance that suffer no ill affects by hunting pressure.
