This is the second installment of Zumbo’s bear hunt in Alberta. He’s writing these posts live from camp.
Once again, for the third year in a row at this camp, I let a bear walk that I probably should have shot. The problem with this place is that there are too many bears. Lots of choices translates to indecision. What made it worse was my guide1s advice that a really big bear, an 8-footer, was working the bait I was watching. He suggested I let the other bears walk, but if I chose to do so, to shoot a lesser bear, stay in the stand, and wait for the big boy.
