About
John Gordon has his uncle to thank for starting him off hunting waterfowl at the age of 10 in the Mississippi Delta. His family moved to Kingwood, Texas, when he was 12, opening a new world to him: goose hunting. The Texas coastal prairie was the destination for snow goose and specklebelly hunters in the 1980s and ‘90s and Gordon embraced the sport and eventually became a professional hunting guide for Texas Waterfowl Outfitters and Paradise Hunting Club. Towns like El Campo, Eagle Lake, and Garwood became well known to Gordon as he pursued geese across Texas’ rice country.
“One of the best waterfowl hunters I know once told me ‘There are no fences in the sky.’ That statement is so true. You never know what might fly by the blind.”
